  • When is the next class? When can I start?
Anytime! Both courses are pre-recorded and self-paced so you can learn when it's convenient for you. Open enrollment allows you to pick your start date. Live Q&A classes are held every Wednesday at 8 pm EST via Zoom. If you cannot attend live, every class is recorded so you can watch the replay when it's convenient for you.
  • Can anyone learn medical billing?
Yes! Even high school graduates who decide not to go to college and want to learn a skill to start earning money in weeks versus years.
  • Is prior healthcare experience required?
No! All you need is a desire to learn and a good work ethic! After successfully completing the training course, you will have the necessary knowledge and skills to apply for entry level billing opportunities.
  • Is a college degree a requirement to be hired?
No! A high school diploma, or equivalent, is sufficient and usually all that is required.
  • Is certification required for medical billing?
No! While billing certification is optional and not required by law, it is highly valued by employers because it demonstrates expertise and commitment to the profession. Certification is a low cost option, maybe in lieu of a college degree, if you want to obtain formal education and not learn bits and pieces of information from random different sources. An employer may prefer to hire a certified biller who has received formal education to manage their revenue cycle. And it can help boost your credibility especially without any prior healthcare experience. In this industry, certification holds more weight than a college degree, especially for non-managerial positions.
  • Can I enroll in training only first and decide if I want to get certified later?
Yes! If you decide to upgrade to Biller BOSS Bootcamp® for AAPC certification, you will only pay the difference between the bootcamp fee and the training course fee, as long as you upgrade within 1 year*.
  • Are advanced math skills required?
No! Only basic math skills are needed: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages.
  • What type of equipment is needed for medical billing?
A computer (desktop or laptop) and a phone. You will also need secure high-speed internet access.
  • Are there any prerequisites required for medical billing?
No! Prerequisites such as anatomy & physiology, medical terminology, pharmacology & pathophysiology are required for "coders", not billers.
  • Will I have to learn coding too?
No! Although billing and coding are related, they are distinct. Coding is a different skill set that involves reading documentation and translating the services and diagnoses into codes. This is not typically a biller's role and the codes will be provided for you. However, it is beneficial for a biller to have a basic understanding of the different code sets and modifier usage, as this helps ensure claims are submitted accurately.
  • Will I earn CEUs after completing the course?
Yes! If you are certified, the medical billing training course is AAPC approved for 10 CEUs. And the CPB prep course is AAPC approved for 40 CEUs.
  • What is the refund policy?
There is a strict no refund policy. Please ensure your commitment to the training course and the certification prep course, as NO refund will be issued once they are accessed, viewed or partially completed.
